How do I use X-Perps in Simple mode?

This is a quick guide to opening your first leveraged trade on OKX.

What should I do before I start?

You'll need a verified OKX account and you must pass OKX's appropriateness assessment first. This is a short questionnaire required by regulation, and it's the only thing that stands between you and your first trade.

Getting started

1. Open the simple mode screen

Open the OKX app and go to the same simple mode screen you already know. X-Perps in simple mode live right there, no new screen to learn.

2. Pick your market

Choose the crypto, stock, commodity, or Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) you want to trade. There are over 80 markets to choose from.

3. Choose long or short

Select Long if you think the price will rise, or Short if you think it'll fall.

4. Set your leverage

Leverage starts at 3x by default. Slide it up to 10x if you want a bigger position, or leave it as is.

5. Check your entry price

OKX locks in your price before you confirm, so the price you see is the price you get. No surprises at the last second.

6. Add a take-profit and stop-loss (optional)

Set a price to lock in gains and a price to limit losses, right from the same screen. Your position closes automatically once either level is hit.

7. Set your trade

Fill in your percentage, tap Confirm and your take profit / stop loss will be set.

8. Confirm your details

Review all your details and select Submit your position is open.

9. Order submission

Your position is open and you can also view your order details.

Managing your position

  • To close early: Go to your open positions, select your trade, and tap Close. OKX shows you your profit or loss directly. The price behind your trade is locked in advance, not picked up from a live, moving market.

  • To edit your TP/SL: Open your position and tap TP/SL to change your levels at any time.

  • To trade with more control: Switch to Exchange mode from the app menu for the full order book and manual margin settings.
